Kennesaw St. Owls vs Missouri St. Bears Predictions October 14, 2026

Game time: October 14, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET

Venue: Robert W. Plaster Stadium — Springfield, MO

Article updated Oct 11, 7:52 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Kennesaw State will beat Missouri State, with a projected score of Kennesaw State 27, Missouri State 23. Rickie Collins’ productive passing and rushing performance in the Owls’ latest game gives them the stronger recent offensive case. However, their penalty problems make this a low-confidence forecast, and neither Kennesaw State -3.5 (-111) nor the 50.5 total offers an actionable edge. The official wager is Pass.

Kennesaw St. Owls vs Missouri St. Bears prediction and best bet

Kennesaw State gets the pick because its offense enters this matchup after a more productive conference opener. The Owls lost 27-26 to Jacksonville State on October 7, while Missouri State fell 34-13 at Western Kentucky on October 8. Those performances favor the visitors in this forecast, although games against different opponents offer an imperfect comparison.

The distinction between picking the winner and backing the spread matters here. A four-point projected victory leaves almost no room against Kennesaw State -3.5 (-111). The Owls’ recent mistakes and Missouri State’s encouraging stretch with Henry Belin IV also make a narrow finish plausible. The best bet is Pass.

Kennesaw St. Owls outlook

Collins supplied the most persuasive reason to favor Kennesaw State. Against Jacksonville State, he completed 24 of 34 passes for 293 yards and one touchdown, then added a career-high 62 rushing yards and another touchdown on 15 carries. That performance gives the Owls a credible route to scoring through both his passing and his mobility.

Brayden Munroe was the leading receiving threat in that game, catching seven passes for 159 yards, including a 70-yard reception. Kennesaw State finished with a 411-385 advantage in total yardage and rushed for 118 yards while allowing 74.

Execution spoiled that production. The Owls committed 15 penalties for 137 yards, and Jacksonville State converted all five red-zone trips. Kennesaw State went 5-for-6 in the red zone. The lesson for this forecast is straightforward: moving the ball is a reason to like the Owls, but their latest result shows how easily mistakes can erase that advantage.

Missouri St. Bears outlook

Missouri State’s immediate challenge is turning movement between the goal lines into points. The Bears gained 340 yards against Western Kentucky but went 4-for-15 on third down and turned the ball over on downs three times. Two of those failed fourth-down attempts came in the fourth quarter.

Skyler Locklear started that game and completed 12 of 24 passes for 89 yards. He also led Missouri State with 76 rushing yards on eight carries. Belin entered early in the third quarter and completed 8 of 14 passes for 115 yards, including a 36-yard touchdown to Isaiah Myers.

That touchdown finished an 11-play, 95-yard possession, the Bears’ longest drive of the season. It is the strongest offensive counterargument to an Owls victory: Missouri State found a sustained scoring response despite its broader struggles. Belin’s appearance, however, is not confirmation that he will start this matchup.

Defensively, Jared Lloyd recorded a career-high 15 tackles and J.J. O’Neal added 11. Missouri State also registered four tackles for loss and six pass breakups. Those individual contributions give the Bears something to build on, though they came during a game in which Western Kentucky scored 34 points.

Key matchup factors

The central tactical question is whether Missouri State can make Collins choose between a difficult throw and a contained running lane. His mobility adds another responsibility for defenders, while Munroe’s recent downfield production makes it risky to focus exclusively on the quarterback’s legs.

For Missouri State, efficient early downs would reduce the pressure on an offense that struggled to extend possessions at Western Kentucky. Locklear’s rushing production and Belin’s touchdown drive suggest different ways to create offense, but neither performance guarantees that the Bears will sustain drives this week.

Discipline could outweigh either offensive advantage. Kennesaw State’s penalty total is a substantial warning for a road favorite. The forecast assumes cleaner execution from the Owls; another game with that many penalties would make Missouri State a much stronger threat to win.

Kennesaw St. Owls vs Missouri St. Bears spread prediction

Pass on Kennesaw State -3.5 (-111) and Missouri State +3.5 (-135). The projected four-point margin technically favors an Owls cover, but a half-point difference between the forecast and spread is too fragile to justify laying the points.

Taking Missouri State requires a different judgment: that the Bears can close the offensive gap enough to stay within three points or win. Their long touchdown drive offers encouragement, but the stalled possessions remain a concern. The more expensive -135 price also raises the hurdle for backing the home underdog.

Kennesaw St. Owls vs Missouri St. Bears total prediction

Pass on Over 50.5 (-110) and Under 50.5 (-110). The projected 50 points lean slightly below the total, but that small difference is not a persuasive betting edge.

The lower-scoring case rests on Missouri State’s difficulty finishing possessions and Kennesaw State’s recent success limiting rushing yardage. The higher-scoring case rests on Collins and Munroe generating large gains, along with the possibility that Missouri State builds on its touchdown drive with Belin. Neither direction is strong enough to warrant a wager at the supplied price.

Kennesaw St. Owls vs Missouri St. Bears projected score

Game forecast: Kennesaw State 27, Missouri State 23. The Owls’ recent quarterback production earns them the selection, with Missouri State’s offensive inconsistency providing the other major reason to favor the visitors.

Confidence is low because this edge rests heavily on one recent game for each team, and Kennesaw State’s discipline problems are a material counterweight. Missouri State’s extended touchdown drive supplies a credible path to a closer result or an upset. Both market recommendations remain passes, and the single official SportsJaw wager is Pass.
