When using our Services, you consent to the collection, transfer, storage, disclosure, and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy, including information deemed sensitive under applicable law.
Irrespective of where you live, you authorize us to transfer, store, and use information in the United States, Ireland, and any other country where we operate. Privacy and data-protection laws, including rules about government access, may vary among those countries.
Information Collection and Use
Basic Account Information: If you create a SportsJaw account, you provide personal information such as your name, username, password, email address, or phone number. Your name and username are public, including on your profile and in search results, and may be a real name or pseudonym.
Contact Information: We may use your email address or phone number to customize your account, enable account features, communicate about the Services, market to you, prevent spam, fraud, or abuse, and help others find your account. If you provide a phone number, you agree to receive text messages from us. You may update notification settings or follow unsubscribe instructions. Your discoverability settings control whether others can find you by email address or phone number.
Additional Information: You may provide additional information to personalize and improve the Services, including an address book used to help users find one another. You may delete imported contacts through your privacy settings. If you email us, we may retain your message and contact information to respond. If you connect SportsJaw to another service, that service may send registration, profile, and other authorized information to us to enable cross-posting and improve the Services.
Posts, Following, Lists, Profile, and Other Public Information: SportsJaw is designed for sharing information with sports fans. Information you make public may include your biography, location, website, date of birth, picture, messages, posts, photos, videos, and links. Public information may be distributed to users, search engines, developers, publishers, and organizations that analyze information for trends and insights. Think carefully about what you make public.
Direct Messages and Non-Public Communications: Features such as Direct Messages allow more private communication. We store and process those communications and related information when you use them.
Location Information: We may receive location information that you publish or provide and may determine location from device data such as GPS, nearby wireless networks or cell towers, or your IP address. We may use and store this information to provide Service features.
Links: We may track interaction with links across the Services, emails, third-party services, and applications to improve the Services, provide relevant advertising, and share aggregate click statistics.
Cookies: We use cookies and similar technologies to collect usage data and improve the Services. Session and persistent cookies help us understand interactions, monitor aggregate usage and traffic, and customize the Services. Cookies are not required for many public features, such as search and public profiles.
Using Our Services: We receive information when you interact with the Services, even without an account (“Log Data”). Log Data may include IP address, browser, operating system, referring page, pages visited, location, carrier, device and application IDs, search terms, and cookie information. We use Log Data to understand interests, customize content and ads, and operate the Services. We retain it as needed and delete it or remove common account identifiers after no more than 18 months, if not sooner.
Widget Data: Third-party sites that integrate SportsJaw buttons or widgets may provide Log Data including the page visited and a cookie identifying your browser. We may use this to tailor the Services.
Commerce Services: To complete transactions, you may provide payment and shipping information. We may store payment information other than CVV and your shipping address to facilitate future purchases; you may remove it through account settings. Payment and shipping information is private. We also collect transaction data such as merchant, date, time, and amount.
Advertising: The Services are supported by advertising. We may use information described in this Policy to make ads more relevant, measure effectiveness, and recognize devices. Advertisers may not target ads using sensitive categories such as race, religion, politics, sex life, or health.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Third Parties and Affiliates: We may receive information from other users, partners, ad partners, and affiliates, including disclosures about you, browser or device identifiers, cryptographic hashes of account identifiers, demographics, interests, and viewed content or actions.
User Consent or Direction: We may share information at your direction, such as when you authorize a third-party application to access your account or direct us to share feedback. Information you share with another user may be shared with a third-party service that user accesses.
Service Providers: We engage providers in the United States and other countries to host, operate, understand, and improve our Services. We may share private information subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations and instructions limiting its use to work performed on our behalf. Payment providers receive information needed to process payments, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes.
Commerce Transactions: For a transaction, we may provide a seller, commerce provider, marketplace, or charity with information needed for payment processing, fulfillment, dispute resolution, and fraud prevention. Their privacy policies govern their own practices.
Law and Harm: We may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or governmental requests; protect a person's safety; address fraud, security, or technical issues; or protect our or our users' rights or property. This Policy does not limit legal defenses or objections to a disclosure request.
Business Transfers and Affiliates: Information may be sold or transferred as part of a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets. This Privacy Policy continues to apply to transferred information. We may share information with affiliates to provide, understand, and improve services and advertising.
Public or Non-Personal Information: We may share public, aggregated, or otherwise non-personal information, such as public profiles, public posts, follower relationships, and aggregate engagement. Your settings control whether some profile information and posts are public; names and usernames remain public unless you delete your account.
Accessing and Modifying Your Personal Information
Registered users have account tools to access, correct, delete, or modify personal information associated with their account.
You may permanently delete your SportsJaw account. After deactivation, your name, username, and public profile are no longer viewable on SportsJaw.com. An account may be restored for up to 30 days after deactivation. Unless otherwise arranged, we then begin deleting it from our systems, which may take up to a week.
Search engines and other third parties may retain copies of public information after you delete it from SportsJaw or deactivate your account.
Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version posted on this page governs our use of your information.
