Louisiana Tech Bulldogs vs Baylor Bears Predictions

Game date: September 19, 2026

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Baylor overwhelmed Prairie View A&M, while Louisiana Tech generated defensive disruptions in a loss at LSU. Those performances leave important matchup questions unanswered.

Matchup and recent form

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs visit the Baylor Bears at McLane Stadium on September 19 in the 2026 college football season. Both teams enter 1-1, and Louisiana Tech’s official recap identifies this as the programs’ seventh meeting.

Baylor beat Prairie View A&M 44-3 on September 12, gaining 552 yards while allowing 110 and seven first downs. Its offense finished with 320 passing yards and 232 rushing yards.

Nate Bennett started with injured quarterback DJ Lagway unavailable and delivered 314 passing yards, three touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown. Gavin Freeman caught 10 passes for 104 yards. That establishes what Baylor accomplished in its previous game, but does not establish Lagway’s availability against Louisiana Tech.

The Bulldogs lost 45-14 at No. 8 LSU despite forcing four first-half turnovers and recording 11 tackles for loss. Alonzo Jackson Jr. contributed three sacks, and Jordan McRae returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown.

Louisiana Tech gained just 132 offensive yards. Blake Baker completed 11 of 21 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown, while Jalen Mickens recorded six catches for 101 yards and a 67-yard score.

Odds and betting decision

Baylor is priced at -950 on the moneyline and -17.5 (-110) against the spread. Louisiana Tech is +600 outright and +17.5 (-110). Both over and under 53.5 are priced at -110.

The latest performances came against different opponents, limiting their usefulness as a direct comparison. Baylor’s production against Prairie View A&M does not establish a likely winning margin here. Louisiana Tech’s defensive takeaways at LSU likewise do not establish that another turnover-heavy performance will follow.

Pass. These results provide context, but insufficient support for a side, total or exact score. The quoted market favors Baylor; this assessment makes no independent winner or score projection.

Prediction
