The Charlotte 49ers visit the Appalachian St. Mountaineers on Saturday, Sept. 19, during the 2026 college football season. Punt and Rally lists kickoff at 6:00 p.m., and the Associated Press report identifies Charlotte as App State’s next home opponent.

The 49ers allowed 268 rushing yards and 400 total yards in that game. That creates a reasonable concern against App State’s rushing attack, although one defensive performance cannot establish an expected margin. Charlotte’s scoring total also needs the context of three overtime periods.
Punt and Rally’s Sept. 10 update listed backup quarterback Conner Harrell as day-to-day while returning from a 2025 knee injury, without a formal game-status designation. That dated report does not confirm his availability for Sept. 19.
