Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams Predictions October 18, 2026

Game time: October 18, 2026 at 4:05 PM ET

Venue: SoFi Stadium — Inglewood, CA

Article updated Oct 11, 9:28 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The Los Angeles Rams will beat the Arizona Cardinals 31-24 in our forecast, with Byron Young’s recent pressure production and Trent McDuffie’s early coverage results providing the strongest matchup reason. Arizona’s takeaway production makes the margin less secure. Neither Rams -10.5 (-110) nor the 50.5 total offers a convincing betting edge, so the official SportsJaw recommendation is Pass.

Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams prediction and best bet

Los Angeles is the pick, but confidence is low. Young’s disruptive performance against Philadelphia and McDuffie’s results in man coverage offer a plausible route to slowing Arizona. Those individual performances favor the Rams without guaranteeing that their defense will control this matchup.

The official best bet is Pass. Arizona’s ability to create takeaways matters against Matthew Stafford, who had six turnovers during the season’s first month. That gives the Cardinals a credible route to keeping the margin inside a large spread, even with Los Angeles favored to win.

The SportsJaw blended moneyline consensus favored Rams -650 at 80% as of Oct. 11 at 13:18 UTC, up five percentage points from Oct. 10. Its combined equivalent sample was 600 selections, with 480 for Los Angeles and 120 for Arizona. That includes a modeled sportsbook component; it is neither an observed ticket count nor an 80% win probability.

Odds, game time and how to watch

Game: Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams, NFL, 2026 season. Date: Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026.

Venue/location: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, California. Broadcast: FOX.

SportsJaw moneyline: Arizona +470; Los Angeles -650.

SportsJaw spread: Cardinals +10.5 (-110); Rams -10.5 (-110). SportsJaw total: Over 50.5 (-110); Under 50.5 (-110).

Dated record context: The Rams’ Oct. 9 preview listed Los Angeles at 2-2 through four games.

Arizona Cardinals outlook

Arizona’s early receiving production gives the offense multiple options. Through four games, Trey McBride had 33 receptions, third in the NFL and first among tight ends. Michael Wilson had 25 catches, tied for eighth overall. That distribution suggests the Rams must account for more than one target, although reception totals alone say little about scoring efficiency.

Jeremiyah Love added 223 rushing yards through four games, leading NFL rookies, and two rushing touchdowns, tied for the rookie lead. Arizona’s Oct. 9 report said he would play in Week 5 after practicing fully Friday following an ankle issue.

That same Week 5 report ruled out right guard Isaiah Adams with an ankle injury and safety Andrew Wingard with a knee injury. Walter Nolen III and Karson Sharar were questionable after limited Friday practices. Dadrion Taylor-Demerson practiced fully following a back issue and was likely to replace Wingard. These were Week 5 designations, not confirmed availability decisions for Oct. 18.

Los Angeles Rams outlook

Young supplied a substantial defensive contribution in the comeback victory at Philadelphia: five pressures, three quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble. McDuffie’s four-game man-coverage sample was also strong, with two receptions allowed for 14 yards across 62 snaps. His results describe one coverage assignment category, rather than the entire Rams secondary.

The Oct. 10 injury report gave Aaron Donald, Colby Parkinson and Jaylen Watson no Week 5 game-status designation. Davante Adams practiced fully Friday after a rest designation. Quentin Lake was questionable with a hip injury after limited participation, although Sean McVay expressed optimism about his progress.

An Oct. 9 preview said Terrance Ferguson was expected to miss at least the required four weeks on injured reserve. As with Arizona, the Week 5 updates offer recent personnel context without settling the lineup against the Cardinals.

Key matchup factors

Ball security is the clearest threat to the Rams forecast. Arizona had forced seven takeaways through Oct. 10, second-most in the NFC West. Against Stafford’s early turnover record, that creates a meaningful opportunity to interrupt Los Angeles possessions and potentially shorten the field.

Arizona also recorded four sacks in its preceding game against the Giants, including a first-play sack by Josh Sweat. Both teams therefore bring recent examples of disruptive pressure. The key question is which offense can avoid turning that pressure into lost possessions. A Rams coverage advantage would matter less if Arizona repeatedly gives its offense favorable field position.

Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Cardinals +10.5 (-110) and Rams -10.5 (-110). The projected seven-point Rams victory points toward Arizona relative to the line, but the forecast is too fragile to turn that difference into an official wager.

The Cardinals’ takeaway production is the strongest argument against laying 10.5 points. The counterargument is that Los Angeles could disrupt Arizona’s passing game enough to build a larger lead. Individual defensive highlights and early reception totals leave considerable room between those outcomes. Neither side earns a spread recommendation at -110.

Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 50.5 (-110) and Under 50.5 (-110). The forecast totals 55 points, giving it an Over tilt, but there is no strong scoring-efficiency or pace evidence behind a total wager.

Pressure and turnovers can work in opposite directions for scoring. Short fields could help the Over, while sacks and lost possessions could erase promising drives. Arizona’s receiving volume adds offensive promise, but catches alone do not tell us how often possessions will finish with touchdowns. The total remains a separate Pass.

Arizona Cardinals vs Los Angeles Rams projected score

Game forecast: Rams 31, Cardinals 24. Los Angeles gets the nod because Young’s pressure production and McDuffie’s coverage results offer a plausible defensive advantage. Arizona’s pass rush and takeaway production are the strongest counterargument, especially against Stafford’s early ball-security problems.

Confidence: low. The defensive case favors Los Angeles, but the evidence covers limited early-season samples and preceding-week injury reports. The score is an editorial projection, with enough uncertainty around both margin and scoring to keep the single official SportsJaw wager at Pass.
