Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Commanders Predictions November 1, 2026

Game time: November 1, 2026 at 8:20 PM ET

Venue: Northwest Stadium — Landover, MD

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The Washington Commanders will beat the Philadelphia Eagles, 20-17, in our November 1 forecast. Philadelphia’s reported season-ending loss of Jalen Hurts is the strongest matchup factor, with Washington also hosting after its bye. Confidence is low: the Commanders’ own struggles temper that advantage, and neither Washington -3.5 (-115) nor the 40.5 total offers a strong enough betting case. The official wager is Pass.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Commanders prediction and best bet

Washington gets the win forecast because Philadelphia faces a substantial quarterback disruption while the Commanders return from their Week 7 bye at home. Hogs Haven’s October 26 report says Jalen Hurts will miss the remainder of the 2026 season because of blood clots in his lungs. That absence weighs heavily in a narrow Washington pick.

The best betting decision is Pass. Washington entered its bye at 1-4-1, hardly a compelling foundation for laying more than a field goal. Our Commanders 20, Eagles 17 projection favors Philadelphia against the number and falls below the total, but those differences are too fragile to turn into wagers without stronger performance evidence.

Philadelphia Eagles outlook

Philadelphia’s outlook starts with the reported loss of Hurts. A season-ending quarterback absence is a substantial reason to reassess an offense, but the size of the adjustment matters more to a bettor than the headline alone. There are no verified replacement-quarterback production figures here to quantify how far Philadelphia’s scoring expectation should fall.

That distinction keeps the Eagles competitive in this forecast. Projecting 17 points is an editorial estimate, not a measured post-injury scoring average. It allows for Philadelphia to remain within one possession without assuming that the replacement offense will reproduce Hurts’ production. Specific claims about passing efficiency, rushing support or protection would need more evidence.

The dated record also deserves care. Philadelphia was 2-4 before its October 26 game against Dallas, according to Hogs Haven. That snapshot should not be presented as a confirmed November 1 record or used to describe the result of the Dallas game.

For the spread, Philadelphia’s attraction is the extra half-point above three. A three-point defeat would cover Eagles +3.5 (-105). The problem is estimating how often that close outcome occurs: the quarterback news gives a reason for caution, while the record alone offers no reliable answer.

Washington Commanders outlook

Washington’s clearest advantages are the setting and schedule. The Commanders host this matchup after their Week 7 bye, giving them a preparation interval before facing Philadelphia. That is a favorable circumstance for the forecast, although it is not evidence that any particular player has recovered or that Washington has corrected its problems.

Those problems cannot be dismissed simply because the opponent has lost its quarterback. Hogs Haven reported that Washington entered the bye at 1-4-1 following its October 19 loss to San Francisco. That record is the strongest counterweight to choosing the Commanders: Washington has its own results to overcome.

The same report says Washington had played only two home games entering this meeting. There is no reason to turn that small amount of home exposure into a claim of dominance at Northwest Stadium. Home field helps frame the pick; it does not supply a proven scoring or defensive advantage.

Washington -200 identifies the Commanders as the market favorite. Our forecast agrees with that direction, but the price alone cannot supply the football case for a comfortable win. Without stronger offensive and defensive measures, a narrow victory is a more defensible editorial call than a decisive margin.

Key matchup factors

The central question is how much Philadelphia’s quarterback loss should change the expected margin. It pushes the forecast toward Washington, while the Commanders’ poor pre-bye record pulls it back toward a close game. The bye adds preparation time, but no verified improvement follows automatically from that break.

Price matters separately. Covers showed Washington between -3.5 and -4.0 at its October 26 update, while SportsJaw supplies -3.5 (-115). Book-to-book differences are not proof of line movement or public pressure.

Weather carries little weight in this forecast. A 20% shower chance and a nighttime low near 55°F do not justify predicting disrupted execution. That October 26 outlook could also change before kickoff.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Commanders spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Philadelphia Eagles +3.5 (-105) and Washington Commanders -3.5 (-115).

The projected three-point Washington victory would cash an Eagles spread ticket, but a single estimated score is not enough to justify backing Philadelphia. Its offensive uncertainty leaves the margin vulnerable to a wider range of outcomes. Washington needs a win by at least four to cover, and its dated record offers little reassurance about paying -115 for that requirement. Neither side earns an official spread recommendation.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Commanders total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 40.5 (-110) and Under 40.5 (-110).

Our projection adds up to 37 points, making Under the direction consistent with the forecast. The scoring argument rests mainly on caution about Philadelphia without Hurts. There are no verified recent scoring rates, pace figures or defensive efficiency numbers to strengthen it. Nor is the mild shower forecast a convincing independent reason to expect fewer points. Over lacks a stronger affirmative case, so both directions remain a Pass at 40.5.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Commanders projected score

Game forecast: Washington Commanders 20, Philadelphia Eagles 17. Washington’s home setting, preparation break and Philadelphia’s reported loss of Hurts produce a slight edge. The strongest objection remains the Commanders’ 1-4-1 record entering the bye, which argues against treating this as a comfortable favorite.

Confidence is low. The forecast selects Washington decisively as the expected winner while recognizing that the supporting edge is narrow. Philadelphia +3.5 would fit the projected margin, and Under 40.5 would fit the projected scoring, but neither has enough independent support for a wager. The single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
