Connecticut Huskies vs Air Force Falcons Predictions October 31, 2026

Game time: October 31, 2026 at 3:00 PM ET

Venue: Falcon Stadium — USAF Academy, CO

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Connecticut will beat Air Force, with a projected score of Huskies 27, Falcons 24. Kalieb Osborne’s productive passing and rushing against UMass give Connecticut the slight edge, while Evan Medders’ injury adds uncertainty for Air Force. The Falcons’ home record and rushing production keep this a low-confidence forecast. Neither Connecticut +2.5 (-105) nor the total of 53.5 creates an actionable wager.

Connecticut Huskies vs Air Force Falcons prediction and best bet

Connecticut gets the nod after a 35-16 victory over UMass that featured 438 yards of offense and three touchdowns from Osborne. The Huskies won with contributions from both their passing and running games, giving them more than one way to attack an Air Force defense that allowed Wyoming 7.3 yards per play.

The Falcons bring substantial counterevidence: a 3-1 home record and 304 rushing yards in that Wyoming game. Their three lost fumbles warrant attention, but their preceding stretch without a fumble argues against expecting another turnover-heavy afternoon. Medders’ uncertain availability further complicates the matchup. The forecast favors Connecticut narrowly; the official best-bet decision is Pass.

Connecticut Huskies outlook

Osborne supplied the strongest reason to favor Connecticut in the Oct. 23 win over UMass. He completed 14 of 19 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, adding 66 rushing yards and another score on 15 carries. His contribution on the ground supplemented a team rushing total of 265 yards. For this forecast, that combination matters more than the final margin: Connecticut demonstrated multiple ways to move the ball.

The defense also delivered a strong result, holding UMass to 303 total yards and 53 rushing yards. The Minutemen converted only two of 14 third downs. Those numbers encourage the Connecticut pick, although one performance against UMass is a limited guide to handling an Air Force offense coming off 304 rushing yards.

Connecticut’s roster turnover adds another reason to keep the forecast modest. Air Force’s official preview lists 87 new Huskies, including 60 transfers, and identifies offensive lineman Ty Chan as the lone returning starter. Connecticut won the previous meeting 26-16 in East Hartford on Nov. 15, 2025, but that result carries less predictive weight with so many personnel changes. The current two-game winning streak and Osborne’s latest performance are more useful starting points.

Air Force Falcons outlook

Air Force’s 28-14 loss at Wyoming on Oct. 23 was not a failure to generate rushing yardage. The Falcons gained 304 yards on the ground, including 115 from Medders on 21 carries. He also completed three of four passes for 27 yards and a touchdown before leaving at the end of the third quarter. Josh Johnson replaced him, and Howard Fisher IV played late.

That makes Medders’ health a significant variable, without making his absence an assumption. His Wyoming production shows how much he contributed that night; it says nothing certain about his workload against Connecticut. A forecast built around either full availability or a confirmed absence would be too firm.

The Falcons also need better possession security and discipline. They lost three fumbles after a 554-play stretch without one and committed eight penalties for 65 yards, matching their penalty count from the preceding three games combined. Wyoming committed no turnovers.

There are reasons to expect a competitive response. Air Force is 3-1 at home, while kicker Carter Cremascoli was 9-for-10 on field goals after converting from 37 and 45 yards at Wyoming. Those results strengthen the Falcons’ case in a projected close finish.

Key matchup factors

The central question is whether Connecticut can force Air Force to work harder for its rushing yards. Holding UMass to 53 yards on the ground is encouraging, but the Falcons’ 304-yard performance presents a different test. Those totals came against different opponents and should not be treated as a direct measure of superiority.

Finishing possessions matters just as much. Air Force’s fumbles helped turn productive rushing into a 14-point output at Wyoming. Better ball security would make that offense more threatening even without additional yardage. Connecticut’s forecast edge rests on Osborne sustaining his varied production while the defense earns stops, rather than on the Falcons repeating an unusually costly turnover game.

Connecticut Huskies vs Air Force Falcons spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Connecticut Huskies +2.5 (-105) and Air Force Falcons -2.5 (-115).

The projected Connecticut victory points toward the underdog, but the evidence behind that margin is fragile. Much of the positive Huskies case comes from one game against UMass. Air Force’s home record and rushing output are meaningful reasons to resist laying points against it or confidently betting against it. Medders’ unresolved status adds another variable. Connecticut is the editorial winner without being a sufficiently strong spread wager at +2.5 (-105).

Connecticut Huskies vs Air Force Falcons total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 53.5 (-110) and Under 53.5 (-110).

The projected 51 points suggest an Under direction, but a 2.5-point cushion is modest given the uncertainty. Connecticut scored 35 against UMass, and Air Force gained 304 rushing yards despite scoring only 14 at Wyoming. Fewer lost possessions could raise the Falcons’ output. Connecticut’s latest defensive performance offers the opposing case, as does the possibility of a reduced role for Medders. Neither side of 53.5 has a persuasive enough scoring case for an official wager.

Connecticut Huskies vs Air Force Falcons projected score

Game forecast: Connecticut Huskies 27, Air Force Falcons 24. Osborne’s efficient passing and rushing contribution give Connecticut a slight advantage, supported by the defense’s strong showing against UMass. The projection asks the Huskies to carry enough of that performance into this road matchup to win a close game.

The strongest counterargument is Air Force’s ability to gain rushing yards and its 3-1 home record. Effective play from Medders, if available, and improved ball security could readily swing the result toward the Falcons. Confidence is low because those possibilities remain substantial. Connecticut is the projected winner; both market recommendations remain Pass. The single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
