Central Florida Golden Knights vs Kansas Jayhawks Betting Picks & Predictions

Game time: November 7, 2026 at 3:45 PM ET

Venue: David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium — Lawrence, KS

Article updated Nov 1, 10:19 AM EST

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

Kansas will beat Central Florida, with a projected score of Kansas 23, UCF 17. The strongest reason is UCF’s protection trouble against Baylor, which recorded seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss. Kansas’ 3-1 home record adds support, but its own offensive struggles keep confidence low. Neither Kansas -1.5 (-9,900) nor the total of 49.5 (-110 either way) earns an actionable wager.

Central Florida Golden Knights vs Kansas Jayhawks prediction and best bet

Kansas gets the forecast because its home results offer a modest advantage against a UCF team coming off a 41-9 loss to Baylor. The Golden Knights need to repair both pass protection and a defense that allowed 503 yards. Those are substantial concerns entering this November 7 college football matchup.

The Jayhawks bring their own problems. They lost 22-16 at TCU after leading 13-0 at halftime, so the pick requires caution about their ability to finish. Kansas 23, UCF 17 is a low-confidence forecast. The best betting decision is Pass: the spread carries an exceptionally expensive price, and the scoring evidence pulls in both directions.

Central Florida Golden Knights outlook

UCF’s October 30 loss in Orlando exposed problems on both sides of the ball. Baylor led 14-0 before the Golden Knights scored and took a 20-6 advantage into halftime. Its seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss make protection and avoiding negative plays the immediate priorities against Kansas. Those figures describe the Baylor game, however, rather than proving Kansas can generate similar pressure.

Will Stone supplied all nine UCF points with field goals from 39, 57 and 35 yards. The 57-yarder set a school record. That range offers a useful scoring option, but three field goals were far short of what UCF needed against Baylor. For this forecast to tilt toward the Golden Knights, more of their scoring would need to come from touchdowns.

Alonza Barnett III entered in the second half and connected with Josh Derry for a 67-yard gain, UCF’s longest play of the season. That is a tangible reason to respect its big-play potential without projecting a quarterback change. Defensively, allowing Baylor 319 passing yards within its 503-yard total raises a separate concern: improved protection alone may not be enough to reverse the result.

Kansas Jayhawks outlook

Kansas’ 3-1 home record is the clearest positive in its case. The November 7 matchup will be its fifth home game and ninth game of the season. Returning to Lawrence supports a slight lean toward the Jayhawks, although their 3-5 overall record and 1-4 Big 12 mark argue against treating the venue as a decisive advantage.

The October 31 loss at TCU illustrates the risk. Kansas led 13-0 at halftime but lost 22-16. Dylan Edwards managed 42 yards on 20 carries, and the offense converted seven of 20 third downs. Kansas also committed two turnovers to TCU’s one. That combination puts ball security and more productive rushing near the top of the priorities for this matchup.

There is also evidence of resilience. Kansas erased an 11-point fourth-quarter deficit to beat Baylor 25-24 at home on October 24. That narrow win contrasts with UCF’s heavy loss to the same opponent, but the differing settings and individual games limit the comparison. Kansas has won both previous meetings with UCF, 51-22 in Lawrence in 2023 and 27-20 in Orlando in 2025. Those results supply context, not a reliable forecast of this season’s margin.

Key matchup factors

The central question is whether UCF can keep its offense out of difficult situations without sacrificing the downfield threat shown by Derry’s long reception. Better protection would give the Golden Knights a path to outperform this forecast. Another game dominated by negative plays would put too much pressure on field-goal scoring.

For Kansas, the issue is converting an opportunity into a complete performance. Its recent comeback against Baylor and lost halftime lead at TCU show how quickly a game can change. The shared Baylor opponent offers a modest reason to favor Kansas, but the Jayhawks’ rushing and turnover problems keep that comparison from carrying the entire prediction.

Central Florida Golden Knights vs Kansas Jayhawks spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on Kansas -1.5 (-9,900) and Central Florida +1.5 (-9,900). The projected six-point Kansas victory would cover the home spread, but the price demands much more certainty than this matchup offers.

At -9,900, a bettor risks $99 to profit $1, requiring a 99% success rate to break even. Kansas’ recent lost lead and offensive difficulties leave obvious room for an upset or a one-point finish. Taking UCF at the same price is equally unappealing. A narrow spread does not make this an inexpensive wager.

Central Florida Golden Knights vs Kansas Jayhawks total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 49.5 (-110) and Under 49.5 (-110). The projected 40 points favor the Under directionally, with UCF’s nine-point outing and Kansas’ 16-point performance supplying the scoring restraint.

The defensive counterargument matters just as much. UCF allowed 41 points and 503 yards to Baylor, creating a plausible route to a higher-scoring game even if its offense remains uneven. Its 67-yard gain also illustrates the possibility of sudden field-position changes. These recent performances leave too wide a scoring range to make Under 49.5 the official wager.

Central Florida Golden Knights vs Kansas Jayhawks Projected Score & Betting Picks

Game forecast: Kansas 23, UCF 17. Kansas’ home record and UCF’s recent protection breakdown give the Jayhawks a slight edge. The projection assumes Kansas does enough offensively to win while both teams leave scoring opportunities unfinished.

The strongest objection is Kansas’ own performance at TCU: a 13-point halftime lead disappeared, and neither Edwards’ rushing production nor the turnover count inspires confidence in a comfortable finish. UCF has a plausible path through improved protection and another explosive play. Confidence is low. The official SportsJaw wager is Pass, with both the supplied spread and total left alone despite the clear selection of Kansas as the projected winner.
