Indianapolis Colts vs Pittsburgh Steelers Predictions October 11, 2026

The Indianapolis Colts are projected to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers, Colts 23, Steelers 21, with Jonathan Taylor’s rushing production giving Indianapolis its strongest matchup argument against a defense missing Derrick Harmon. This is a low-confidence forecast: Pittsburgh has a productive offensive pairing and stronger spread support. Neither Colts +2.5 (-105) nor the total of 44 offers a convincing betting edge; the official recommendation is Pass.

Indianapolis Colts vs Pittsburgh Steelers prediction and best bet

Indianapolis is the pick to win a close game, but the official betting recommendation is Pass. Taylor’s production and return to full practice Thursday support the Colts’ offensive outlook. Harmon’s confirmed absence gives that running game another reason for optimism, although the size of his impact is uncertain.

The counterweight is Pittsburgh’s ability to attack through Aaron Rodgers and Jaylen Warren. Both teams enter 2-2, and the consensus favors different teams depending on the market. That leaves a slight Indianapolis preference rather than a strong enough edge to recommend a wager.

A projected outright win makes Colts +2.5 (-105) worth considering. It does not automatically make the price attractive. The football case needs to outweigh both Pittsburgh’s strengths and the uncertainty around Indianapolis’ own personnel.

Odds, game time and how to watch

Game: Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers, Week 5 of the 2026 NFL season.

Kickoff: Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 1 p.m. ET.

Broadcast: CBS.

Records and form: Both teams are 2-2. Indianapolis has won two consecutive games, beating Houston 19-17 and Washington 30-13. Pittsburgh lost to Cleveland on October 1.

SportsJaw spread: Indianapolis +2.5 (-105); Pittsburgh -2.5 (-115).

SportsJaw moneyline: Indianapolis +125; Pittsburgh -145. SportsJaw total: Over 44 (-110); Under 44 (-110).

Indianapolis Colts outlook

Taylor has 353 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns through four games. Those totals include 20 carries for 95 yards and two touchdowns in the October 4 victory over Washington in London. That performance supplies a concrete reason to expect Indianapolis to make him central to its approach.

His Thursday practice participation was encouraging: Taylor practiced fully after being limited Wednesday. That update supports the forecast without settling his eventual workload. His recent carries and scoring production are more useful here than assuming Indianapolis will control possession simply because it wants to run.

The Colts also have several sack contributors. DeForest Buckner has three, Adetomiwa Adebawore has two and Laiatu Latu has one through four games. Their production offers a potential route to disrupting Pittsburgh, though sacks alone are not a complete measure of consistent pressure.

Thursday’s absences create uncertainty elsewhere. Receiver Ashton Dulin, linebacker Jaylon Carlies, defensive tackle Grover Stewart and defensive end Arden Key did not practice. Those are practice statuses, not confirmed game absences. Stewart and Key are particularly relevant to the defensive personnel Indianapolis could have available against Warren.

Pittsburgh Steelers outlook

Rodgers has 999 passing yards, seven touchdown passes and four interceptions through four games. The touchdown production gives Pittsburgh a credible answer if Indianapolis scores early. The interceptions are the caution: a turnover could carry considerable weight in the close finish projected here.

Warren brings production in both phases, with 309 rushing yards at 5.6 yards per carry and 143 receiving yards. His 126 total yards against Cleveland show that his involvement remained productive even in a loss. He is the strongest reason to resist treating the Colts’ defensive front as a decisive advantage.

Pittsburgh converted four of 13 third downs against Cleveland. That result raises a question about sustaining drives, but one game should not be treated as a season-long tendency.

Harmon is ruled out following his placement on injured reserve. Receiver Michael Pittman Jr. missed Thursday practice with a foot injury that coach Mike McCarthy said could keep him out for multiple weeks. Safety DeShon Elliott returned to limited practice Thursday but remained on injured reserve/designated to return.

Key matchup factors

The forecast hinges on whether Taylor can create favorable situations for Indianapolis without the Colts needing to chase points. Harmon’s absence strengthens that possibility, but there is no quantified matchup advantage here. Pittsburgh can change the game’s direction if Warren keeps its offense out of difficult third downs.

SportsJaw’s October 9 consensus update shows Pittsburgh -2.5 (-115) leading the combined spread count, 338 selections to Indianapolis’ 265, or 56%. Those counts combine a modeled sportsbook sample with SportsJaw participation using the published 80/20 weighting; they are not observed sportsbook ticket totals.

SportsJaw members favored Pittsburgh at 67%, and qualified handicappers separately favored Pittsburgh at 67%. The sportsbook spread split was 53% Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, the combined moneyline consensus favored Indianapolis +125 at 56%. These measure different selections and groups, not either team’s probability of winning.

Indianapolis Colts vs Pittsburgh Steelers spread prediction

Pass on Indianapolis +2.5 (-105) and Pittsburgh -2.5 (-115). The Colts are the preferred side of the forecast, but Taylor’s form is balanced by Warren’s production, Indianapolis’ defensive practice absences and the opposing spread consensus.

The distinction at this number matters. Indianapolis +2.5 covers an outright Colts win or a loss by one or two points. A three-point Pittsburgh victory loses the Colts spread bet, so the points do not protect against every close finish.

The projected Indianapolis win is a narrow editorial judgment. It is not a sufficiently strong pricing argument to make either supplied spread an official play.

Indianapolis Colts vs Pittsburgh Steelers total prediction

Pass on Over 44 (-110) and Under 44 (-110). The projected 44 points sit exactly on the line. Pittsburgh’s offensive production offers an argument for scoring, while its recent third-down result introduces uncertainty about how many drives will end productively.

The combined total consensus favors Over 44.5 (+101) at 66%, with 397 modeled-and-community selections for Over and 204 for Under. That is a different line and price from the supplied SportsJaw total of 44 (-110), so it should not be presented as support measured at today’s betting terms.

The snapshot also records an eight-percentage-point shift toward Under 44.5 (-116) from October 8. That is a change in consensus support, not evidence that the betting line moved. Neither direction earns a wager at 44.

Indianapolis Colts vs Pittsburgh Steelers projected score

Game forecast: Colts 23, Steelers 21. Taylor’s rushing production supplies the strongest reason to select Indianapolis, with the Colts’ sack contributors offering a possible route to key stops. Pittsburgh’s Rodgers-Warren combination is the strongest counterargument, reinforced by the spread support for the Steelers.

Confidence is low because those opposing strengths leave little separation. Indianapolis is the projected winner; both the spread and total recommendations are Pass. The single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
