New York Knicks vs Chicago Bulls Predictions Today

Game time: October 28, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET

Venue: United Center — Chicago, IL

Article updated Oct 28, 7:54 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

The New York Knicks will beat the Chicago Bulls, 118-112, in our October 28 forecast. New York’s stronger defensive results last season and Chicago center Nic Claxton’s confirmed absence give the Knicks the edge. Confidence is low because New York’s recent scoring and incomplete injury picture complicate the comparison. Neither the supplied spread nor total offers a convincing wager; the official recommendation is Pass.

New York Knicks vs Chicago Bulls prediction and best bet

New York gets the nod on the strength of its 2025-26 performance and Chicago’s personnel concerns. The Knicks finished 53-29 and allowed 110.1 points per game, a useful starting point against a Bulls team that finished 31-51. Claxton’s absence adds another reason to favor New York, particularly with Karl-Anthony Towns averaging 14.0 rebounds in Fubo’s current player listing.

Those advantages warrant a winner, but the betting case is less persuasive. Last season’s records cannot carry a 6.5-point road spread by themselves, and New York scored only 100, 103 and 102 points in its three reported losses. The best betting decision is Pass. The forecast favors the Knicks without treating their historical advantage as a reliable covering margin.

SportsJaw total: Over 234.5 (-110); Under 234.5 (-110). The spread requires a Knicks victory by at least seven points for New York bettors to cash.

New York Knicks outlook

The Knicks’ strongest evidence comes from last season. Alongside their 53 victories, they went 35-17 against Eastern Conference opponents and held opposing teams to 46.0% shooting. Those figures support the expectation that New York can compete defensively here. They remain historical benchmarks, however, rather than proof that this season’s team has already reached the same level.

Fubo lists Jalen Brunson at 22.8 points per game, Towns at 14.0 rebounds and Tyler Kolek at 6.0 assists. Brunson supplies the clearest scoring reference among those Knicks figures. Towns’ rebounding is particularly relevant against a Chicago rotation missing Claxton, although an individual rebounding average does not guarantee that New York will control the boards.

The three reported losses offer a more cautious offensive picture: 106-100 against Philadelphia, 107-103 at Boston and 111-102 against Orlando. New York stayed within nine points in each, but its scoring in those games gives little reason to project an easy offensive breakthrough.

Health also limits confidence. The Knicks had not submitted their official injury report by 7:15 a.m. ET. Separately, the Associated Press report carried by ABC7 listed Jose Alvarado out with an ankle injury. New York should not be treated as fully healthy.

Chicago Bulls outlook

Chicago has an offensive counterargument to the Knicks forecast. Last season, the Bulls averaged 116.3 points, including 53.0 in the paint, 15.4 off turnovers and 17.4 on fast breaks. Those categories identify scoring opportunities New York must contain. They do not establish how quickly this particular game will be played or how often Chicago will force turnovers.

The current individual figures also give the Bulls a route to compete. Fubo lists Caleb Wilson at 21.0 points and 1.5 blocks per game, Josh Giddey at 7.3 assists and Jalen Smith at 7.5 rebounds. Wilson’s scoring and Giddey’s distribution are reasons to leave room for a productive Chicago offense in the forecast.

The recent results point in different directions. Chicago scored 120 in a four-point home loss to Washington, then scored 99 while allowing 134 at Boston. The first result shows why dismissing the Bulls’ scoring would be a mistake; the second makes their ability to stay competitive harder to trust.

The official 7:15 a.m. ET injury report lists Claxton out with a left hamstring strain. Tobe Awaka is questionable with a left ankle sprain, and Patrick Williams is questionable with a right adductor strain. Their uncertain availability adds risk without making either forward a confirmed absence.

Key matchup factors

Chicago’s interior availability matters most to the side forecast. A missing center makes Towns’ rebounding production more relevant, but the size of that advantage depends partly on who else plays. For the total, the central tension is New York’s low scoring in the reported losses against Chicago’s recent defensive concessions.

SportsJaw’s October 28 community snapshot, updated around 12:32 a.m. UTC, favors New York -6.5 (-115) at 60%. The qualified-handicapper group also favors that selection at 60%. Separately, the community total preference is Under 234.5 (-110) at 100%. Those are pick shares, not win probabilities. They describe agreement among the respective groups without strengthening the underlying statistical samples.

New York Knicks vs Chicago Bulls spread prediction

Pass on New York Knicks -6.5 (-115) and Chicago Bulls +6.5 (-105). The projected six-point Knicks victory falls just short of a New York cover, but that half-point difference is too narrow to turn an approximate score forecast into a Chicago wager.

New York’s historical defense and Chicago’s injuries favor the visitors. The Knicks’ modest scoring in the reported losses pushes back against laying the points. Chicago’s 35-point loss at Boston also makes backing the underdog uncomfortable. Neither price compensates convincingly for the uncertainty surrounding the expected margin.

New York Knicks vs Chicago Bulls total prediction

Pass on Over 234.5 (-110) and Under 234.5 (-110). New York’s three reported losses totaled 206, 210 and 213 points, making the Under the more appealing direction at first glance. The projected 230 points also sits below the line.

The counterweight is Chicago’s defense: its Washington loss totaled 244, and its Boston loss reached 233 despite only 99 Bulls points. Claxton’s absence could hurt defensive resistance as well as affect the rotation. With those competing scoring signals, a 4.5-point gap between forecast and line is insufficient for an official wager.

New York Knicks vs Chicago Bulls projected score

Game forecast: Knicks 118, Bulls 112. New York’s prior-season defensive performance and Towns’ rebounding against a shorthanded Chicago rotation make the Knicks the projected winner. Confidence is low: the forecast requires more Knicks scoring than appeared in their three reported losses, while their official injury picture remains incomplete.

Chicago’s strongest counterargument is its demonstrated ability to score, illustrated by the 120-point performance against Washington and supported by Wilson’s current scoring figure. That keeps an upset plausible and a comfortable Knicks cover uncertain. The spread recommendation is Pass on either side at 6.5, the total recommendation is Pass at 234.5, and the single official SportsJaw betting lean is Pass.
