UTSA Roadrunners vs Tulane Green Wave Predictions October 24, 2026

Game time: October 24, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET

Venue: Yulman Stadium — New Orleans, LA

Article updated Oct 20, 9:48 AM EDT

By SportsJaw Editorial Team

UTSA will beat Tulane 28-24 in this forecast, with Owen McCown’s productive passing performance against Navy giving the Roadrunners the offensive edge. Tulane’s disruptive defense makes that a low-confidence prediction. Neither UTSA -2.5 (-115) nor the total of 51.5 (-109 on either side) offers a compelling betting advantage, so the official SportsJaw recommendation is Pass.

UTSA Roadrunners vs Tulane Green Wave prediction and best bet

UTSA gets the winner pick because its latest offensive performance offers the more persuasive foundation for this forecast. McCown helped the Roadrunners beat Navy through the air, and UTSA delivered a game-winning touchdown drive. That combination earns a slight preference over Tulane.

The best betting decision is Pass. Tulane’s pressure and takeaways against Memphis are a substantial counterargument, while the offensive comparison comes from games against different opponents. A projected four-point UTSA victory is a plausible outcome, but it is too narrow a foundation for endorsing the favorite at -2.5 (-115).

UTSA Roadrunners outlook

McCown completed 28 of 38 passes for a season-high 359 yards and three touchdowns in UTSA’s 38-34 victory over Navy. The Roadrunners finished with 469 offensive yards. Those numbers favor UTSA in the recent passing comparison, although one productive outing should not become a blanket judgment about this matchup.

A'Marion Peterson caught the go-ahead 41-yard touchdown pass to finish a six-play, 75-yard winning possession. Will Henderson III led UTSA with 78 rushing yards and scored on a 31-yard run in the fourth quarter. Those contributions give the forecast more substance than McCown’s passing total alone.

The close result also matters. UTSA scored 38 and still won by only four, so its latest performance offers stronger encouragement about its ability to score than its ability to create separation.

Tulane Green Wave outlook

Tulane beat Memphis 31-17 after forcing six turnovers and recording seven sacks. Fourteen of its points came directly from Memphis turnovers. That defensive production is the clearest reason to take the Green Wave seriously against an opponent whose latest victory featured substantial passing success.

Memphis nevertheless outgained Tulane 488-325. The Green Wave’s comfortable final margin therefore came alongside a sizable yardage deficit. For this forecast, that makes another convincing win harder to project without assigning considerable weight to another disruptive defensive performance.

Trace Johnson completed 11 of 21 passes for 165 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Johnnie Daniels supplied 61 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Destyn Hill caught four passes for 62 yards and a score. Those were useful contributions, but the defense supplied the most distinctive part of Tulane’s latest win.

Key matchup factors

The central question is whether UTSA can turn its passing production into sustained possessions against Tulane’s pressure. McCown’s execution against Navy supports the winner pick; Tulane’s performance against Memphis makes a straightforward repeat less certain. Neither outing establishes how that direct confrontation will unfold.

Turnovers also complicate the scoring outlook. They can end promising drives or create immediate scoring opportunities. Tulane’s six takeaways are relevant to both sides of that equation, so treating them solely as an argument for a lower total would miss their effect on its last victory.

UTSA’s winning drive offers a useful example of execution in a close finish. It is a modest tiebreaker here, rather than proof that the Roadrunners will control another tight game.

UTSA Roadrunners vs Tulane Green Wave spread prediction

Spread recommendation: Pass on UTSA -2.5 (-115) and Tulane +2.5 (-105). The projected 28-24 result falls on UTSA’s side of the spread, but a score forecast alone is not a measure of betting value.

UTSA’s offensive case earns the straight-up selection. Tulane’s disruption keeps the expected margin uncertain, and the two recent performances offer no reliable estimate of how often UTSA wins by at least three. Neither spread price earns an official recommendation.

UTSA Roadrunners vs Tulane Green Wave total prediction

Total recommendation: Pass on Over 51.5 (-109) and Under 51.5 (-109). UTSA’s Navy game totaled 72 points; Tulane’s Memphis game totaled 48. Those contrasting results illustrate the uncertainty rather than identify a fair total.

The forecast adds up to 52 points, just half a point above the line. That small difference is not enough to endorse the Over, especially when pressure could stall possessions and turnovers could change scoring opportunities in either direction.

UTSA Roadrunners vs Tulane Green Wave projected score

Game forecast: UTSA Roadrunners 28, Tulane Green Wave 24. McCown’s latest passing performance and UTSA’s demonstrated ability to finish a winning possession give the Roadrunners the slight edge.

Tulane’s seven-sack, six-takeaway performance is the strongest counterargument. It keeps confidence low and makes both betting markets passes. UTSA is the projected winner; the single official SportsJaw betting recommendation is Pass.
